Online Resource: Easy DIY Projects For Kid Engineers By Fawn Qiu

This is a great Ted Talk from Fawn Qiu about how to create easy projects to help kids learn about engineering. It’s a great example of how, with a little careful thought and planning, relatively complicated subjects can be taught in simple, fun and practical ways that kids will enjoy, and many other fields could benefit from following this type of approach.

You can find more videos from Fawn Qiu on her YouTube channel, including examples of a range of simple engineering projects of the type mentioned in her Ted Talk. If you’re looking for a good starting point, I’d recommend this one on how to make a basic circuit on a piece of paper (it’s both fun and a great way to introduce a child to how electricity works).
